Much like bad weather swept through the northwest the prior day, City blew Manchester United away at the Etihad. It was a statement 3-0 victory for the City coach's side due to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that truly announced their championship potential as they consolidated their position at the top of the table.

Back-to-Back Defeats for Manchester United

This scoreline marked consecutive Women's Super League losses for Skinner's side for the initial occasion since May 2024, placing them a sizable gap off the league leaders with their championship aspirations severely dented.

Manchester United's ability to juggle league and continental football with a thin roster has been a hotly discussed topic since they secured entry to the UCL.
